Happy New Year!

What a year of challenge, and immense hardship for many people and organizations. It was a hellacious year that signaled a time for change and adaptation in every aspect of our lives. As President of the Society I wish you all a much improved New Year and offer the platform of this Society to connect us all - the essential workforce of environmental analysts.

What did we accomplish in 2020:

Held the first annual meeting for the membership hosted by TNI at their winter conference in Newport Beach, CA – “Be in the Know: California Emerging Contaminants”. The CSEA annual meeting was a series of 6 presentations by nationally renowned individuals on the subjects PFAS and microplastics.

Established a robust website with a blog. Entered the social media arena.

Brought on two more Board members, Robert Benz from Horizon LIMS, and Daniel Schlenk from UC Riverside.

Published the Society's first newsletter in October.

What will we be up to in 2021:

Helping analysts adapt to an ever-changing environment.

Increasing membership, please ask colleagues to consider being a member – a Society is as strong as its membership!

Communicating with membership through social media, blogs and newsletters.

Surveying membership for ideas and suggestions – what can we do for you.

Holding an annual meeting virtually with another organization.

Mentoring analysts, providing resources to make professional life easier, simpler and quicker.
