Rulemaking for Hexavalent Chromium MCL


The Division of Drinking Water is accepting written public comments on the proposed Hexavalent Chromium Maximum Contaminant Level. A public hearing to receive public comments will be held on 2 August 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the CalEPA Headquarters in Sacramento, CA. The public comment period ends on 4 August 2023, at 12:00 p.m. (noon).


These rules define the methods the Division of Drinking Water intends to allow, the associated Detection Limit for Purposes of Reporting, and the MCL. Laboratories are encouraged to read and understand the rulemaking documents if they offer or intend to offer testing for hexavalent chromium in drinking water.
