ELAP Issues Updated Memorandum of Understanding with Third-Party Assessors
ELAP has updated the three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with four third-party assessment (TPA) firms after expiration of the initial agreement. The MOU makes these firms eligible to continue providing on-site assessments to in-state laboratories for the purpose of applying for ELAP accreditation. The four firms are:
American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)
ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB)
The International Accreditation Service (IAS)
Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA)
Updates to the MOU include added detail on the documentation in on-site assessment packages based on longstanding guidance and clarified assessor Conflict of Interest reporting requirements. It does not alter the services currently being provided to laboratories, who should see minimal, if any, change related to this update.
Questions on this agreement are welcome and can be sent to elapca@waterboards.ca.gov.
